The Golden Gate Bridge is 1.7 miles long, with its longest span running 4,200 feet long-and carries about 112,000 vehicles a day on its six-lane roadway. Biking and walking across the bridge is a thrilling experience and offers jaw-dropping views of Downtown San Francisco, the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Area.

Biking and Walking the Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful walks and bike rides in the world. Biking across the Golden Gate Bridge is a thrilling experience and the half-hour walk allows you to feel the atmosphere and enjoy amazing views of Downtown San Francisco and the bay. Cyclists have free access to the East and West sidewalks 24 hours a day. Pedestrians can walk on the East sidewalk facing San Francisco from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Walk or bike to the Golden Gate National Parks with picturesque trails and vista points on either end.
 

Golden Gate Bridge Toll

Tolls are collected in the southbound direction (only into San Francisco) on the Golden Gate Bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge toll is $7.25 for cars and motorcycles and $6.25 for the FasTrak toll. All tolls can also now be paid online at www.goldengatebridge.org.
