St. Patrick's Day Parade in San Francisco
On March 17th, everyone’s a bit Irish-luck runs aplenty, along with the beer and plates of corned beef-and that’s no exception in San Francisco. The city’s fog becomes tinted with a hint of green, and people come from all over the city to partake in the party. The SF St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival is the obvious tradition, where city organizations, youth groups, church groups, and tons of others come to sing, dance, and be merry to the sounds of the snare and bagpipes. The parade winds its way through the city-take up a few lines of song, then choose your next destination-there are many others to check out, depending on your mood.
For those with a health-conscious mind, the Emerald Across the Bay 12K is a perfect St. Patty's day activity. Think of it as a “fast” parade. The run concludes with a gorgeous trot across Golden Gate Bridge, and you'll run right past all the “other” revelers. Those who have-well, the opposite-in mind, the Saint Paddy's Pub Crawl is probably more your speed. Crawl all of the Fog City's best and most storied Irish pubs: The Phoenix, Lefty O'Douls, and Kells, to name a few. You’ll be in good company all day long-just try to keep up! In short, there is a party for everyone in Frisco on March 17th. The Inn at Union Square will allow you the easiest access to wherever you want to go!
