For five years, the SF Chefs Festival has been a foodie’s heaven, with delicious bites from a variety of chefs, as well as fine wines, and unique cocktails. Sample an unlimited number of dishes, from appetizers to entrees to desserts, each with a distinctive flare, and each representing a local chef or one of the city’s most fabulous restaurants. All guests receive a free wine glass at the door, and many drinks booths serve their offerings in glasses their visitors can take home as souvenirs. In addition, a variety of classes, demos, parties and seminars take place through the duration of the festival, featuring some of the event’s most adventurous offerings. Some of those events are free, while others require individual tickets.

The festival is produced by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association and sponsored by a number of local and national businesses and organizations. It runs from July 28-August 4, from about 9am-5pm. General admission tickets cost $140, but Visa Signature Card users receive a discount and pay only $112. For the price, visitors can enter and leave as they wish, and there are easily enough food samples to fill you up and then some. In fact, you can enjoy the festival, spend some time elsewhere shopping or seeing the sites, and then return to the festival to enjoy some more samples. In addition, enjoy drinks and take home a few souvenir glasses. The grand tasting tent is located on Union Square, just a steps away from our hotel. For anyone intending to sample the area’s amazing drinks, this location is ideal.
