Make Stuff and Do It Yourself Right Here in San Francisco

In an ode to Makers' fairs and our die-hard DIY culture here in San Francisco, we present you with some opportunities to get handy, crafty and talented with some events and venues around town that help you make stuff!

Need more vertical space? How about attending the Woodworking: Triangle Shelves! at Verlocal on Tuesday, October 20th. Here, you'll learn the basics and tools needed for this kind of endeavor and will have a finished product by the end of class.

Are you a beer or classic soda lover? Don't miss the Craft a Magnetic Bottle Opener from Wood! class at Verlocal on Monday, October 19th. Proudly display your functional project for your friends to admire, or make it for someone you love!

Go a bit more girly and head for MakeShop by Brit + right here in Union Square, where you can take classes or buy your own DIY kits for jewelry, totes and more. They are reopening their doors on Dec. 5th, to a new location on Union Street. Go say, "hi!"

Want to do it all? Head to Workshop in NoPa, the DIY school that teaches you everything from how to make beer to succulent gardens to knitted scarves to pizza! You'll never have to buy anything again.

So if you're ready to make this year all about the handmade gifts that never get thrown out, than take a seat at some local how-to classes before time runs out!
