See San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker from December 11 through 29, a premier attraction in the Bay Area this time of year. Once the holidays are over, the exciting entertainment is still only just beginning for classic ballet performances. The 2014 season promises to be spectacular, with an event calendar that kicks off with “Giselle” from January 25 through February 2. This romantic tale is a well-known masterpiece, with mesmerizing dance numbers and music following a heartbreaking plot. On a very short run, you can snag tickets to a special performance of the Hamburg Ballet. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed only twice on February 12 and February 13, 2014. Now is the time to start planning a romantic getaway that your Valentine will never forget. Plus our Union Square hotel is located conveniently close to this awe-inspiring attraction. The SF Ballet is also bringing audiences a highly anticipated world premiere from Val Caniparoli. From February 18 to March 1, 2014, you can see this show along with “From Foreign Lands” and “Borderlands” for a truly world-class experience. Also in February, Program 3 includes “Firebird,” “Ghosts©”, and “The Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere, Act II”. Combining one of the Company’s most popular ballets with a cast of more than 30 dancers, you can plan a matinee or evening viewing while you visit.
