A Unique New Year's Eve In San Francisco
Wouldn't you like to start your New Year doing something out of the ordinary? Perhaps on a yacht, or in a speakeasy wearing a fun costume? Maybe you're just sick of your suddenly stale New Year's Eve party and you'd like to switch things up a bit.  Good news is, you're in luck.  San Francisco has no shortage of one-of-a-kind, quirky, original, and simply fun and exciting parties for you to choose from! They do, however, often sell out quick, so you've got to act somewhat fast.  Here are a couple ideas to get you thinking.

For something that's a mix of atraditional New Year's Eve party and something a little more upscale, consider a fireworks gala cruise.  You get all the trappings of a traditional NYE party-champagne, fireworks, dancing and live music-but the party is on a beautiful two-story million-dollar yacht! Out on the water, you'll get amazing views of the city's fireworks show.  Depending on your admission, you'll get four hours of hosted bar, live DJs, desserts, and great views of the fireworks.  VIP tickets include bottle service and open bar all night.  Semi-formal wear is required for the gala.  Tickets go fast, are extremely limited due to marine regulations, and can be found here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/new-years-eve-fireworks-gala-cruise-tickets-12695501587?aff=es2&rank=9.

For something less traditional, check out these two "period" options: A Great Gatsby New Year and the Speakeasy 2015 Cruise.  Both events encourage costumes or period-style attire, so you'll get an authentic feel just by showing up with your friends! The Speakeasy Cruise is one of the more popular NYE events in the city-you'll cruise around the bay, past Alcatraz and the Golden Gate as two DJs spin Top 40 all night long.  The music may be new, but with any luck (and some convincing) you'll feel like you're in the 1920's.  There'll be blackjack tables and an open bar all night aboard the Fume Blanc Commodore! In a similar vein, A Great Gatsby New Year's Eve sells out quick.  The party is themed, modeled, and inspired by Gatsby's gilded soirees that F. Scott Fitzgerald describes so aptly in his novel.  Step back in time to the 1920's and 1930's-Art Deco, spats, flappers-and head to one of the city's most celebrated restaurants, Per Diem.  The food and drink will be spectacular and flow freely, and you'll get to live out your socialite fantasies for a night.  Again, both events sell out fast, so act quickly.  You can find out more about each bash by respectively visiting http://www.eventbrite.com/e/speakeasy-2015-new-years-eve-cruise-tickets-11022387257?aff=es2&rank=6 and http://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-great-gatsby-new-years-eve-san-francisco-tickets-14118632209?aff=es2&rank=10.
