Tyson earned his BA in Physics from Harvard and his PhD in Astrophysics from Columbia. While acquiring his advanced degree, he focused his professional research in star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies and the structure of the Milky Way.
Dr. Tyson has put several notches under his professional belt since his superlative education. Of note, he was the first occupant of the Frederick P. Rose Directorship of the Hayden Planetarium.
