Whether you're a movie lover or just someone looking for a nice way to spend an evening, come watch some movies in the park. Bring some picnic food, a couple blankets, and a friend and or two (or perhaps a date) and head over to Film Night in the Park! Located in various parks throughout the Bay Area, 24 movies will play between June 7 and September 21. From classics like Singing in the Rain and the Princess Bride to modern hits like the Avengers and Argo, there's not only something for everyone here, there's probably something for everyone to discover, and each movie is chosen by a team of movie lovers with audience feedback. Friendly guests, a sense of community, and pretty views of one of America's prettiest cities just add to the experience.

The festival is now in its 22nd season, and it's as magical as when it first began. Movies start around 8:00pm, but get there at least half an hour early (an hour or even an hour and a half would be better) to get a good seat and enjoy your picnic as you wait. Candy and popcorn are available at all screenings. All movies are free, but the festival is a fundraiser by the San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation to save the area's classic movie theaters, so donations are appreciated. Make sure to bring enough blankets and hot drinks to stay warm, though, because San Francisco evenings can be chilly even in summer. Most chairs, however, are discouraged so that everyone can see the screen.
