San Francisco Museum of Art (SFMOMA)

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art presents the most innovating and thought-provoking modern and contemporary art on the West Coast. A short walk from downtown, SFMOMA offers a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and changing presentations from the impressive collection of more than 27,000 artworks, photographs and design objects.
 
From contemporary paintings by Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko to 20th century art on canvas by Henri Matisse, the SFMOMA will inspire you. Explore the rooftop sculpture garden and pavilion showcasing large-scale works. Family Sundays & Free Family Days

Explore and create art, travel to virtual worlds, discover hands-on activities and be inspired on Family Sundays. Family Sundays feature family-friendly gallery tours and special kid and teen programs - from movies to book readings. Kids 12 and under get in free every Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with a family tour at 1:00 p.m. Offered three times a year, Free Family Days provide a cultural gateway to the entire museum - fun activities, exhibitions, performances, films, and book readings for the family. You can also join the Mods, a new club for kids. Families get in FREE!
 

SFMOMA Tours -

The SFMOMA offers exciting guided and audio tours that provide engaging experiences to learn about modern and contemporary art. The Museum offers daily public tours by knowledgeable docents (free with admission). Audio and multimedia tours give visitors the opportunity to explore the galleries on their own pace. Private guided tours can be customized for groups of 10 adults/students or more. The museum also offers school tours and summer youth tours for camps and youth programs

Is there dining at the SFMOMA?


Yes. Caffè Museo offers a casual, modern dining atmosphere with fresh, organic food. Enjoy traditional Mexican/Yucatan Peninsula cuisine, including grilled seafood, chicken and steak dishes, tortas, panini, quesadillas and salads. The café is open daily (except Wednesdays) from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
 
Blue Bottle Coffee Bar offers freshly-brewed coffee drinks and art-inspired cakes and desserts created by their pastry team in the rooftop kitchen. Feed your senses while enjoying the museum's collection and rotating exhibitions. Access to the Blue Bottle Coffee Bar requires museum admission.
 

Where is the best place to park?


The easiest place to park when visiting the museum is the SFMOMA Garage on Minna Street, between Third and New Montgomery, behind the museum.
 
Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Thursday - Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
