Autumn Moon Festival

This September the historic streets of Chinatown will transform into a colorful celebration of a more than thousand-year-old tradition. Called the Autumn Moon Festival, this two-day ritual commemorates the summer's harvest in addition to the "fullness" of the moon. Expect moon-related memorabilia and Asian-inspired festivities as you witness this one-of-a-kind custom.

Polk Street Blues Festival

Come one and all to upper Polk Street for its annual Blues Festival this September, beginning Saturday, the 13th. Expect delectable treats, unique artisan crafts, a merchant marketplace, and infectious tunes as you stomp your feet and snap your fingers to the music. More than 30,000 people come together for the only free blues event in the bay area.

Broadway superstar Audra McDonald joins conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and the rest of the symphony for a tribute to the Jazz Age, featuring selections of the Classic American Songbook including Gershwin and Antheil.
