Holiday Shopping in San Francisco
San Francisco is known partially for its eclectic, unique, and funky shops and boutiques.  Should you need to do a little bit of last-minute shopping in the city, our hotel affords you the advantage of location-Union Square and the surrounding neighborhood are home to some of the city's best shops.  Holiday shopping can be a daunting task, indeed.  It always seems like everyone, you included, has waited until the last minute.  While that may be the case, if you keep a few tips in mind, notably, holiday hours for shops and perhaps even small events to break your shopping trip up, you can have a rather enjoyable day checking out the retail San Fran has to offer.

The Westfield San Francisco Centre is one of the city's premier shopping hubs and locations.  It offers 166 stores and restaurants to patrons, from upscale and chic fashion to collectibles, salons, gourmet foods, shoes, and accessories.  Its central location gives it an advantage of other city shopping spots, as it sits right on Market Street, in the very heart of Downtown.  Not surprisingly, Westfield San Francisco Centre (primarily the mall anchors-Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, etc.) offers extended hours a few days before the holidays.  Knowing when these hours are can greatly improve your shopping trip.  Visit the Westfield SFC website below for specific holiday hours.

In addition to the larger Westfield San Francisco Centre, the neighborhood around Union Square prides itself upon being one of the world's best retail districts.  The Macy's flagship store is there, as well as countless other smaller independent boutiques and shops, international fashion houses, and much more.  In the actual square, you'll find the city's Christmas tree, decorated and dazzling, as well as caroling and ice skating in the square's rink.  It just may be the perfect refuge after a day of shopping-kick off those boots and strap on a pair of skates!  A schedule of events for the square, as well as the holiday hours schedule for the Westfield Centre follows: http://www.unionsquareshop.com/holidayEvents.html, http://www.westfield.com/sanfrancisco/center-info/hours/.  Good luck, and happy hunting!
