Get out your green for the 165th Annual San Francisco Saint Patrick's Day Parade & Irish Festival, the biggest such event on the entire West Coast. Taking place at Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, March 20 from 9 am to 5 pm, the festival attracts over 100,000 revelers each year. The parade is the highlight of the event, and kicks off at 11:30 am from the corner of Market and 2nd Street. People line the streets to see the Irish dancing groups, hear the bagpipe bands, cheer on the marchers, and celebrate the luck of the Irish. All throughout the area, you'll find special deals on Guinness and green beer, plus authentic cuisine and treats from the Emerald Isle. This year's Grand Marshall is Jerry Boyle, and the event is sponsored by the United Irish Society.
